CONTRAINDICATIONS: Areas of abnormality such as recent scar tissue, skin graft, moles or warts. Any skin disease, abrasion, wound, pimples, rashes, inflammation, pus or infection, or area that may be skin cancer.

Grabbing a razor can be a quick and convenient method for hair removal. However, Waxing offers quite a few benefits that you just can’t get with shaving, and Sugaring offers even more.

 

Here are some of the merits to both services:

  • You can expect longer lengths of time between hair grow-out than you’d typically expect with shaving

  • Both potentially allow for the hair to grow out softer and lighter

  • You won’t cut yourself by Waxing or Sugaring

  • Both give you a smoother finish over shaving

  • Waxing and Sugaring both offer superior alternatives for those with sensitive skin, and you won’t get razor burn

  • You are less likely to develop in-grown hairs following a Waxing or Sugaring appointment, unlike shaving

All of these advantages often result in a much more convenient and pleasant hair-removal experience, but ultimately the most efficient and long-lasting form of hair-removal you can get is Sugaring – a practice dating back to Ancient Egypt.

 

Here are some exclusive benefits to Sugaring:

  • It is the least abrasive form of hair-removal, removing the least amount of skin in the process, and there is no risk of lifting

  • The Sugar picks up shorter hair and vellus hairs (peach fuzz) in addition to coarse hair, so it lasts longer than waxing and leaves a smoother finish

  • Sugar only needs to be slightly warmed to work, so there is no need for ultra-hot wax

  • Most people who get Sugared versus Waxed report lower levels of pain

If you have never been Waxed or Sugared before, here are some tips to prepare your skin at home prior to your appointment:

  • Use a sugar scrub or dry brush to exfoliate your skin up to 24 hours before your appointment

  • No shaving beforehand! Let your hair grow to a minimum of ¼ inch – long enough to pinch between your fingers

  • Please note that for intimate hair-removal appointments, hair should be longer than ¼ inch, but no longer than 1 inch. If you wish to wax an intimate area, please make sure you trim before your appointment as we do not trim at the spa!

  • Avoid caffeine before your appointment. Don’t worry! After the appointment, you are free to resume your regular caffeine consumption

  • Do not drink alcohol before your appointment. 

  • Be prepared to cover your skin after your appointment to protect from sun damage and bacterial infection. Think of your skin as having an open wound
